ThermoTech™ insulated glass units (IGU) have been developed to incorporate a wide range of glass products to keep your space comfortable and energy efficient.

By incorporating different glass types from across our product range within a ThermoTech™ IGU, a number of additional benefits can also be achieved such as privacy, security, noise reduction and energy efficiency.

ThermoTech™ can also incorporate a warm edge spacer which provides outstanding levels of solar control, thermal insulation and overall energy efficiency for commercial building envelopes. It also offers enhanced structural integrity combined with sustainability, durability and UV stability.

Considerations

  • The Viridian product label affixed to the glass must be installed to the outside of the building.

Installation

  • Suitability of glazing compounds, sealants and gaskets need to be approved by Viridian.
  • Units must not be stored externally or expose to prolonged moisture prior to installation as this can result in seal failure.
  • The frames must incorporate impervious weather seals or an efficient self-draining system.
  • When transporting and/or installing at altitudes of 800m and above, special air pressure equalisation requirements may apply and must be brought to the attention of Viridian.
  • Ensure any coated surfaces are identified and oriented for optimal performance.

Standards

  • Wind load and safety determine the type and thickness of glass required, refer to AS 1288.
  • The Viridian Warranty relies on frame design in accordance with AS/NZS 4666.

How to Specify

  • Available in any large range of glass combinations.
  • Select from: Insulated glazed unit.
  • Compatible spacers: Aluminium, Warm Edge.

Glass surfaces are counted from the exterior to the interior of the building.
