Within the state-of-the-art Light Horse Logistics Hub is the purpose-built warehouse and distribution centre for HelloFresh, supporting their meal kit operations across the region. Located at Eastern Creek in New South Wales, this 44,117 sqm facility represents the first warehouse in Charter Hall's new Eastern Creek estate. The facility's strategic location adjacent to the Light Horse Interchange (M4 and M7) provides connectivity to Western Sydney's major road networks and interstate B-double transport routes, making it an ideal hub for HelloFresh's distribution network.

The facility required integration of multiple temperature zones from blast freezers to ambient office spaces within a single structure. The Viridian ClimaTech™ insulated glazed units were specifically selected to support the facility’s extensive temperature-controlled operations spanning nearly 30,000 sqm of temperature-controlled spaces. The high performance, double glazing configuration provides superior thermal insulation, reduced energy consumption, and stable internal conditions for both product storage and worker comfort across the facility’s 24/7 operations.

The Viridian ClimaTech™ glazing’s low U Value performance minimises condensation risk in temperature-controlled areas, critical for maintaining distinct temperature zones while reducing energy transfer between blast freezer conditions and ambient office environments. The VFloat™ Grey component was also crucial in providing thermal performance while maintaining visibility for operational safety in areas that support hundreds of shift workers.

The collaboration between Viridian Glass and South West Aluminium ensured consistent quality across the entire installation. Built by Richard Crookes Constructions, the facility targeted a 6-Star Green Star Design & As-Built rating, with Viridian ClimaTech™ glazing contributing to reduced operational energy consumption and lower HVAC loads.

Light Horse Logistics Hub project required a strong technical undertaking that involved design coordination across multiple organisations. The integration of Viridian ClimaTech™ glazing demonstrates how high performance glass solutions can support complex industrial operations while contributing to sustainability objectives.
